The Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame (WCHF) Foundation holds an annual Induction Ceremony typically on a Saturday near Earth Day. This year’s ceremony will honor our 2020 and 2021 Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame conservation heroes Saturday, April 24, 2021! Join us for a series of four free events held live on a virtual platform throughout the day. Induction Ceremony Invitation
This year’s ceremony marks the induction of our 100th conservation hero along with three others. Everyone is invited to participate and help us celebrate this milestone.

It’s official! The Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc. (WCHF) has announced the selection of the conservation leader for induction in 2021. The inductee will be Gary Eldred — citizen scientist extraordinaire.
“I had been a hunter, fisherman, and trapper since I was twelve. I deeply enjoyed these outdoor activities and spent as much time as I could pursuing them. In the process, I became a skilled amateur naturalist and developed a strong interest in conservation. While in my mid-twenties, I was fortunate enough to read Aldo Leopold’s Sand County Almanac. That new perspective on nature and conservation, especially the chapters on land ethics, began a subtle transformation of my thinking.” – Gary Eldred

WCHF has announced the selection of three conservation leaders for induction into the Hall of Fame on April 25, 2020 at the SentryWorld (the Atrium) in Stevens Point. The 2020 Induction Ceremony will celebrate our 100th inductee into the Hall of Fame.
The inductees this year will be Stephen Born, a well-known UW-Madison professor who specialized in environmental planning and worked on almost every aspect of water management, from the Great Lakes to inland lakes to groundwater and rivers and watersheds, and is an expert fly fisher; Jens Jensen, a landscape architect who developed many of our Midwest parks, focusing on indigenous plants and ecological processes of this region’s prairie landscape, and …

A coffee reception will be held prior to the morning Induction Ceremony on Saturday, April 25th at the SentryWorld (the Atrium) in Stevens Point. There will be a luncheon following the ceremony.
The Induction Ceremony and Coffee Reception are free. There will be a fee for the luncheon. Reservations for lunch will be required.
