Bob Ellingson is standing in the center, back row.

Bob was a graduate of UW-Stevens Point. He taught high school before working for the Wisconsin Conservation Department where he spent 34 years before retiring in 1998. He served as chair of the Conservation Congress for several years. WCHF Executive Committee member, Ed Harvey, noted, “Bob Ellingson was a family man, a gentleman, and a conservationist.  I was fortunate to have worked with him for many years on the Conservation Congress when he was the Congress’ Liaison (a DNR employee), later when he became a delegate and eventually when he was the Congress Chairman (1995 – 1998).  What people need to understand about Bob is that first, he was a leader. Bob was always a teacher. That background was apparent in the manner in which he addressed problems, and the way he led our organization from issue to issue. All of us who worked with Bob consider him to have been a great friend.”

Bob served as a WCHF Governor from 2001 to 2015. Obituary
